Why is this important?
As the new head of CNN, Jeff Zucker has the ability to keep Soledad O'Brien and her great show - "Starting Point" - on the air! Her "long form" style of journalism apparently doesn't appeal to him, so he's cutting her show and replacing her. But we need reporters and anchors like Ms O'Brien, and her loyal viewers want to keep her on the air. As a loyal CNN viewer, I love watching Soledad O'Brien- she's a great, hard hitting journalist who gives us real news and asks tough questions. As a woman of color, O'Brien's work to make sure that the stories of different types of people around the country bring something sorely missing in most news coverage. I consider Ms. O' Brien a role model and trailblazer, and it would be a real loss for our country if Zucker cuts her show.
